Smart Home IoT Appliance Controller

I engineered a comprehensive Smart Home Automation System using the ESP32 microcontroller as the central brain to control household appliances. The system is designed with two distinct operational modes: automatic and manual, and I utilized Firebase to build the mobile web application and secure control interface. In automatic mode, environmental sensors are activated to detect human presence. If a person enters a specific area, such as a bedroom, the connected appliances in that exact location automatically turn on without affecting appliances in other zones like the sitting room. If no human presence is detected for a user-configurable timeout period, the system autonomously powers down the appliances to save energy. In manual mode, the user can securely log into the Firebase web application and manually toggle any appliance of their choosing. Because the system leverages the ESP32's internet connectivity, the user maintains complete, real-time control over all connected home appliances no matter where they are in the world.
